Pittsburgh PPM


Brent Earlewine is the Senior Certified Instructor at Pittsburgh Personal Protective Measures and is one of only a handful worldwide.  He holds the full PPM Level 1 Certification from the Sentinal International parent group as well as PPM Level II Advanced Edged Weapons Certification.  Mr. Earlewine is a JuGodan (15th Dan Blackbelt) in Budo Taijutsu as well as a Shoden Level (1st Degree Blackbelt) in Muso Ikken Ryu Batto Jutsu.  He has trained full time in the martial arts since 1986 and has had the distinct honor of training with multiple Martial Arts Shihan’s, Grandmaster’s, SpecOps, LEO and Intelligence Operators from around the world in that timeframe.  He has also trained with some of the world’s leading violence dynamics thought leadersin the last several years.  He was recently certified to conduct Active Shooter drills and craft Active Shooter response plans using the A.L.I.C.E. methodology and is an NRA Refuse to Be a Victim Certified Instructor.

Brent owns and runs the Pittsburgh Bujinkan Dojo (where all of the Pittsburgh PPM classes take place).  He holds a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Point Park University  and an Masters of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship from Babson University.  He was awarded Dai Shihan from Soke Masaaki Hatsumi in 2018.

Brent, along with Dave Fetterman, has co-authored three books on Martial Arts, and in excess of 16 DVD instructional titles.  He has been to Japan to train directly with Soke Masaaki Hatsumi of the Bujinkan.  (While in Japan, Brent and Dave also had the unique opportunity to train directly with Machida Kenshinsai Kancho, Soke of the Enbukan Battojustu Organization.)

While studying Budo Taijutsu, Brent and Dave went through a 7 year long process to become an internationally recognized Certified Instructor in the Personal Protective Measures program.  We are pleased to be able to offer the insight and training needed in today’s society to keep one’s self safe from modern violence.
